Job Purpose 
Global Aviation Programs - Linehaul Programs manages programs and IT products that enable the Air and International Truck Networks of DHL Express to achieve safe, service excellence at lowest operating cost in alignment with standardized processes. This is done by constantly reviewing and enhancing the processes and IT Solutions that underpin Network Control, Airside, Commercial Air, ACS, and Airline functions. 
We are looking for a Program Manager, Global Linehaul Programs based in Brussels, Belgium.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?


• With a strong understanding of network scheduling and flight operations; its place in the overall Express process and the dependencies to other functions; you will sustain and develop the portfolio of applications; IT and process change projects used in a strategically critical part of the Big Yellow Machine. 
• You will be accountable for the outcome of the program that together drive forward the portfolio of the Network through incremental change over the 1-to-3-year timeframe. As such you will: 
- Be responsible for working with the leaders from around the Network to ensure alignment between Global SOP, business processes and procedures with the mandated tools plus the changes introduced being capable of achieving the business case benefits in ways that comply to global IT Architecture and ISCOP standards. 
- Champion, manage, prioritize and be accountable for program and project work. 
- Coach and direct product and project managers; analysts and support staff. 
- Direct line management position consolidating and developing leadership competencies. 
- Manage the tasks associated with sustaining the knowledge and capabilities (people, process, applications) needed to ensure efficient and safe use of the IT Applications under a specific business domain as well as the performance of the IT partners engaged in the on-going run services. 
- Represents area of focus to functional bodies and working groups and prepare material for senior manager review. 
• Other important aspects of the role includes: 
- Able to mentor the use of various structured analysis techniques and choose the correct standard for a Program. 
- Requires broad cross functional experience and knowledge. 
- Understands the enterprise artifacts and how to include them in programs to ensure long term stability and resolve short term issues across a specific program. 
- Has a comprehensive knowledge of the development lifecycle and can apply necessary risk, schedule quality and cost management controls appropriate to the phase. 
- Is able to use ITIL to ensure service definition and compliance including SLA negotiation across a range of back-to-back service agreements. 
- Manage the tasks associated with sustaining the knowledge and capabilities (people, process, applications) needed to ensure efficient and safe use of the IT Applications under a specific business domain as well as the performance of the IT partners engaged in the on-going run services.
- Direct management and definition of specific programs and projects, to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and to the agreed specification resulting in a positive impact on operations performance.
- Responsible for the definition of the material used to approve project funding and that the benefits of each component are clearly defined so that the correct level of investment can be made for each phase.
- Responsible for the compliance of each project to the terms of the approval and that cross business domain, program, and project interdependencies and risks are managed. 
- Working with procurement, ensure vendor contracts are commercially beneficial and that the vendor delivers the required quality described in work orders within the agreed time and cost dimensions.
- Primary liaison and facilitator on behalf of the network for specific projects of both an operation and IS nature and therefore involves balancing competing senior executive/manager views and practices. 
- Scale is typically all the Programs of work for multiple business functions within a domain across all regions. The issues are associated with steering the solution direction in balance with the business case and solving vendor delivery, resource balancing and business prioritization issues. 
 

 Do you have what it takes?


• Fluency in spoken and written English. 
• Experience in managing people as direct reports. 
• Broad-based computer knowledge with a good understanding of information systems needs relating to the transportation sector. 
• In depth knowledge of express /transport operations processes preferred. 
• Well-developed project/ process management, prioritising and analytical skills with strong business acumen and some IS project related experience. 
• Proven ability in report writing: able to prepare analytical reports highlighting and interpreting key business information. 
• Proven ability to conduct a services- based audit and gap analysis for the purpose of producing business requirements. 
• Highly motivated, initiating, good team member. 
• Flexibility in operating style and attitude. 
• Possess excellent end-to-end and interdependency knowledge of the functions business processes and procedures plus a good understanding of the group's operational processes and strategic challenges of each region and responsible function so that Programs and projects take account of wider organisation and/or functional matters. 
• Strong managing, influencing, inter-personal and communication skills are required in order to gain sufficient support for the programs, both internally and externally. 
• Successful management and leadership of large diverse international direct line and virtual project teams and multiple project stakeholders. 
• Successful collaboration, interface and interaction with senior stakeholders and customers.
