What you can expect

The Accounting department of DT BeLux is an integral part of Daimler Truck’s European Finance division. Reporting to the local CFO, the Head of Accounting leads the entire financial reporting process and accounting team to deliver accurate, timely IFRS-compliant reports for DT BeLux and Daimler Buses Belgium.

This includes managing the accounting team, setting objectives, providing guidance, and planning resources to optimize efficiency and quality. Additionally, you will handle tax reporting, credit risk monitoring, and collaborate with controlling and tax departments to support financial planning and compliance.

You’ll wear many hats — all critical to our success.


As the face of Accounting at DT BeLux and Daimler Buses Belgium, you will:

  1. Lead and manage the full financial reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely IFRS-compliant monthly and annual reports.
  2. Collaborate effectively with the Shared Service Center (SSC), Controlling, and other internal teams to drive continuous improvements in efficiency and quality.
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact for SSC and respond promptly and comprehensively to Daimler Truck AG (DTAG) queries.
  4. Manage and develop the accounting team by setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, managing workloads, and providing coaching and guidance to support team success. Plan resources to meet medium-term business demands.
  5. Take ownership of the monthly financial reporting cycle using the MIF system, ensuring GAAP adjustments, inter-company reconciliations, and disclosure completeness are accurately delivered on time.
  6. Collaborate with Controlling on financial adjustments, balance sheet planning, and submission of planned financial statements aligned with IMPACT data as part of the financial planning process.
  7. Oversee the preparation and submission of annual financial statements, working closely with external auditors and management to ensure compliance and timely delivery.
  8. Manage tax reporting within the Truck business unit, ensuring accuracy and timely submission, and coordinate with Tax Management and external advisors.
  9. Monitor and manage credit risk by overseeing dunning processes and implementing effective controls to minimize financial exposure.

We seek a driven, independent, and proactive professional who works in a structured and pragmatic manner.

Bachelor in Accounting or related field

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a corporate, international environment.

Hands-on experience with SAP and strong technical skills

Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to anticipate challenges and take decisive action.

Results-driven and highly organized, able to work in a structured and efficient manner.

Open to innovation and continuous improvement, eager to bring fresh ideas and drive change

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team

Flexible and adaptable, able to set and re-set priorities if needed

Positive attitude with resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Fluent in Dutch, French and English
