Data Engineer - Brussels

Introduction

We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to support the evolution of a modern data and analytics platform within a large-scale, international environment.

The team is currently working on the migration from a legacy data platform to a modern data architecture, introducing new technologies and structured data layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to improve scalability, performance, and analytics capabilities.

You will work in a cross-functional agile team together with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders.

This is a collaborative international environment, where you will also work closely with teams located in different regions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines and data processing workflows
• Contribute to the design and implementation of modern data platform architecture
• Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines
• Support the development of analytics and business insight use cases
• Work with structured data layers such as Bronze, Silver, and Gold
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across the platform
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and operational teams
• Support the migration of legacy data transformations to the new platform
• Contribute to platform automation, deployment, and operational stability
• Work closely with distributed teams in an international setup

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering or data platform development
• Strong hands-on mindset and ability to work in complex technical environments
• Experience working in agile development environments
• Experience with Java, Apache Spark, Airflow, NiFi
• Experience with Python/Scala is a plus
• Language: English
