Retail Manager Belgium

Your Mission
Part of the Delvaux Europe & Middle East (EME) team, you will report to the Managing Director EME. You will define the Retail & Client strategy for the Belgian market in line with the regional commercial strategy with the key objective to increase client & contact acquisition, conversion and loyalty. You will implement the retail action plan in line with the Commercial & Communication action plan to reach sales and image impact targets. You will act as an ambassador for the Belgian market and keep key relationships with clients, potential clients and partners. You will work closely with regional and HQ stakeholders and go beyond your scope to reach the targets.

You will be in charge of

  • Delivering the commercial performance of the Maison in Belgium;
  • Developing further the image and reputation of Delvaux in Belgium across key stakeholders, clients and prospects.

Contributor to the strategic agenda of the Maison in Belgium, in coordination with the EME team and reporting to the Managing Director EME.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets and respecting the budgets dedicated to support the activity
  • Manage sales and retail plan with each store manager and accompany them to improve efficiency to reach retail KPIs and target
  • In charge of delivering the expected boutique sales and profitability
  • Makes sure that each boutique progresses on their KPIs
  • With a special focus on the local clientele building
  • Contribute to define the company's sales budget plan, evaluating the actual and future needs of the country and propose/draft sales forecasts, in line with company strategy
  • Evaluate the resources required to achieve this plan including budgeting OPEX and hiring needs
  • Manage daily, weekly and monthly reporting + Analyze and monitor market
  • Set individual objectives to the store managers in order to support their performance and development, review them mid-year and hold an evaluation meeting at least once a year. Support store managers in the objective setting and evaluation process of their team.
  • Coach store managers in their own management and store operations, on the basis of regular visits to each boutique (minimum twice a month per boutique)
  • Oversee the team planning with each SM and/or ASM, end of the month results per HQ, commission pay-out and liaise with HR and Payroll services
  • Work closely with EME HQ team: Merchandising, Retail Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Retail Operations to drive business growth
  • Build the retail action plan to animate each boutique and the relationship with its clientele in close collaboration with EME Head of Retail Marketing & Events
  • Ensure that all stores are offering the expected level of service and assistance to our visitors in adequation with the brand image (complying with VM and atmosphere guidelines, maintenance of the boutique) and compliant with all commercial guidelines and policies
  • Embody Delvaux locally, nurturing a close partnership with luxury retail executives, the network of local partners and suppliers, attending local events on behalf of Delvaux
  • Develop new and existing business and maintain key relationships across all partners
  • Gather and report all information on the luxury retail environment, local happenings and initiatives, territory related HR and administrative rules
  • Ensure smooth and efficient operations and coordination with potential department stores or wholesale partners
  • Keep the Managing Director EME updated and aware of any relevant information: 1/ impacting the performance of the country and the achievements of targets, and 2/ requiring arbitration at the EME Region or HQ level.

Profile

  • First Managerial experience of a minimum 5 years with a proven experience of growing a commercial team, notably of a retail network;
  • Solid product knowledge and strong luxury feeling;
  • Proven track record in sales and in establishing relationships with key partners in Belgium;
  • Good knowledge of Belgian market;
  • Excellent reporting and analytic skills, both quantitative and qualitative to drive a retail business;
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, confidence to challenge;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • Excellent level of French, English and Dutch (written and spoken).
