Tax Accountant (VAT)

EMEA Recruitment is proud to assist a global, industry-leading medical technology organization in its search for a Tax Accountant (VAT) as they continue to expand their team.

Responsibilities of the Tax Accountant (VAT):

• Execute and oversee VAT and Intrastat operations across Europe and the EMA region, ensuring quality and compliance
• Lead the preparation and sign-off of VAT declarations and reporting in accordance with local legal requirements
• Perform detailed reconciliations and take ownership of specific month-end activities within the VAT domain
• Ensure strict adherence to internal and SOX controls to guarantee the integrity of financial data and transactions
• Collaborate with management to identify, develop, and implement process improvements and standardization opportunities
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to provide high-level tax support and ensure SLA commitments are met
• Support tax audits and participate in projects related to system enhancements and process automation

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field with a strong focus on VAT/Indirect Tax
• Demonstrable experience in a similar level role, ideally within an international advisory, Shared Service (GBS), or multinational environment
• Strong background in VAT compliance and Intrastat reporting
• Results-driven mindset with excellent organizational and planning skills
• Proficient in English; any additional European language is considered a plus
• Advanced Excel skills; hands-on experience with SAP is highly advantageous
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative on-site setting (minimum 4 days per week)
