Senior Risk Engineer

📍 Belgium (Antwerp office – hybrid possible after training)

On behalf of an internationally recognized industrial insurer active in over 175 countries, we are currently looking for a Risk Engineer (3–5 years’ experience or more senior).

Prevention Advisors from the construction sector are also welcome to apply.

Position Overview

As a Risk Engineer, you will analyze industrial risks (fire, business interruption, natural hazards and potentially machinery breakdown) at client sites or from the office. You translate your technical findings into clear risk reports, develop loss scenarios and propose concrete risk improvement measures.

You act as a trusted technical partner for both clients and internal stakeholders, presenting your analyses at risk management level and contributing to the continuous development of risk engineering services locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and desk-based risk assessments
• Draft structured technical reports and loss scenarios
• Formulate and communicate risk improvement recommendations
• Support clients and internal teams with technical analyses
• Present findings at management level (account engineering)
• Contribute to the Risk Engineering Academy and share knowledge internally
• Support the development of risk engineering services

Profile

• Engineering degree (electromechanics, mechanical engineering, chemistry) or equivalent through experience
• Experience in risk analysis with focus on fire and explosion risks, natural hazards and business interruption (machinery breakdown is a plus)
• Prevention Advisors from construction are encouraged to apply
• Analytical, communicative and able to work independently
• Comfortable meeting deadlines and presenting to clients
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English
• Willing to travel, including internationally
• Driving license B required
