Postgraduate Engineer Student


Company Description
Formula Electric Belgium unites passionate engineering students from KU Leuven University and Thomas More University College in Flanders, Belgium, to design, build, and race an electric Formula Student race car. The project provides a dynamic and realistic environment where team members apply technical and soft skills, enhancing their education and expertise. Supported by technological and manufacturing partners, the team participates in international Formula Student competitions annually. Beyond racing, the project serves as a platform to showcase innovative developments in electrical mobility and promotes engineering and science through educational initiatives.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Leuven for a Postgraduate Student at Formula Electric Belgium. The role involves participating in the design, development, and manufacturing of an electric Formula Student race car. You will collaborate with team members and partners, contributing to technical engineering tasks, project management, and problem-solving. There will also be opportunities to engage in public relations, educational outreach, and the promotion of engineering and sustainability initiatives as part of the team's mission.

Possibilities to join the team
Postgraduate student:
The postgraduate student will work one year from august to august full time on the project on location in leuven. Each postgraduate team member is required to enroll in the postgraduate program 'Technovation: Teams & Startups' of the KU Leuven.
Thesis student:
Formula electric proposes different Bachelor and Master thesisses available on the websit.
Part-time student
The Part-Timer is an important member of the team. They work about 10-12 hours a week on the project on tasks presented by the postgraduates. They will also help with the technical as well as the non technical tasks to make the team better. They have a commitment to the team as the other members are counting on them, but don't have to be present at all meetings, events or competitions.
internship:
Internship members are a mix of the postgraduate members and the part-timers. They work full time on the project during the internship, but get tasks from the postgraduates. They will help with the technical as well as the non technical tasks to make the team better. They have a commitment to the team as the other members are counting on them
Qualifications
Skills in engineering design, CAD software, and technical analysis
Experience in manufacturing techniques and prototyping
Strong teamwork, collaboration, and project management skills
Passion for innovation, sustainability, and engineering education
Strong communication skills for public engagement and knowledge sharing
Ability to work on-site in Leuven full-time
A degree or relevant experience in engineering or related fields
