Who we are
Impact Finance Belgium (IFB) (https://impactfinance.be) is the leading, not-for-profit organisation and membership community on impact and sustainable investing in Belgium. Its scope covers all capital providers who genuinely strive for (measurable) impact for people and planet. Both foundations, impact investors and financial services firms with a clear footprint in impact are welcomed. Our activities include advocacy, publishing of research, organizing expert events, connecting stakeholders and facilitating practitioners in the ecosystem. IFB is part of the GSG Impact network, Impact Europe and Eurosif, the leading pan-European association promoting Sustainable Finance.
Your role
As a Communication & Community Manager, you will contribute to:
- Position IFB as the reference organisation on impact finance
- Build an engaged, member-based and multi-stakeholder association
- Ensure our mission resonates with investors, policymakers, the media and the public
This is a leadership role within a small, entrepreneurial team—ideal for someone ready to take strategic initiative while rolling up his/her sleeves. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the CEO and the team and be central to shaping the narrative of impact finance in Belgium. The ideal candidate is a trilingual (NL-FR-EN) professional with solid communication skills & community-building experience and a good knowledge of the BE financial ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Communications
- Contribute to design and execute IFB’s communication strategy, aligned with our mission and members’ and supporters’ priorities
- Craft and adapt key messages for different audiences: finance professionals, public institutions, policy makers, media, civil society, stakeholders
- Ensure strong, consistent visibility across press, digital media, publications and events
2. Media Relations
- Act as primary point of contact for media
- Draft press releases, speeches, policy positioning, and media kits
- Support CEO and board with preparation for media interactions as well as with speaking engagements
3. Community Building & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and animate a vibrant, cross-sector impact finance community, including banks, asset managers, insurers, foundations, private impact funds, public investors as well as other non-members associations relevant for IFB.
- With the team, support the organisation with regular convenings, roundtables and informal gatherings to foster relationships and trust
- Cultivate collaboration across the ecosystem and ensure members feel ownership and connection
4. Events & Campaigns
- Lead the communication and outreach of our yearly flagship events such as Belgian Impact Week or the Belgian Impact Day
- Coordinate internal and external member, stakeholder and partnership events
- Make proposals on thematic campaigns (e.g. retail impact investing, pensions for impact,...)
5. Content, Design & Digital Management
- Oversee IFB’s web and social media presence (LinkedIn, newsletters, etc.)
- Produce and coordinate high-quality storytelling: case studies, interviews, policy briefings, newsletters, video clips
- Lead the design and production of strategic documents and materials, including:
- IFB’s annual reports, event reports, thematic publications
- Presentations and communication kits for stakeholders, investors, and public institutions
- Infographics and visual summaries to explain complex topics simply
Profile
Must-Haves
- Trilingual in French, Dutch and English (written & spoken)
- At least 5 years of experience in (strategic) communication. Advocacy, PR and community management experience are strong plus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a small or entrepreneurial organization
- Strong writing, messaging, and storytelling skills—able to translate complexity into clarity
- Comfortable with media relations
- Experience in the financial sector is a very strong asset. Deep interest in sustainability, sustainable finance and social innovation is required
- Knowledge of Belgian and EU financial or policy frameworks (e.g., SFDR, taxonomy, CSRD) is a plus
- Expert knowledge on community-building platforms and tools (LinkedIn, Mailchimp, Canva, etc.)
- Experience with organizing multi-stakeholder events
- Team-player, can-do attitude and who enjoys a collaborative environment
