Cost Engineer

Project ONE will invest more than 3 billion euros in a state-of-the-art ethane cracker and associated utilities, storage, and energy facilities (OSBL). Our goal is to become 'best in class' within the European cracker industry, setting safety and environmental standards well above those of existing competitors.

Are you an analytical and structured professional with experience in project cost control and planning? For INEOS Olefins Belgium NV, based in Lillo, we are looking for a Cost Engineer who will play a key role in the preparation and execution of CAPEX projects.

Responsibilities

• Core responsibility: delivering accurate and well-founded cost estimates to ensure the success of our investment projects.
• Prepare and review investment cost estimates (Class 5 to 2) in line with AACE standards by collecting input from various disciplines and using historical data and installation factors.
• Support project engineers in preparing estimates for smaller projects.

• Monitor project budgets and analyze deviations by comparing actual costs with the planned scope.
• Support project teams in managing project costs and report to project managers.

• Develop project schedules (L1 to L4) using Primavera or MS Project.
• Analyze risks, bottlenecks, and critical paths in project planning.
• Carry out gate reviews and ensure lessons learned are integrated.
• Support project managers in tracking progress and milestones.

Profile

• A higher education degree with proven experience in cost estimating, cost control, or project controls.
• Expert in preparing cost estimates with proven experience applying AACE methodologies across project phases from concept to execution
• Preferably a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or willing to obtain certification.
• Ability to develop technical work structures (WBS) and interpret cost data and tendering processes.
• Experience with data analysis, benchmarking, and productivity analysis in project environments.
• Strong understanding of technical documentation; knowledge of SAP and/or Cleopatra Entreprise is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
