Job Title: Linux Engineer

Service Description:

The Infrastructure Engineer - Expert role is centered around managing and optimizing Linux environments within the TechOps team. The engineer will participate in infrastructure projects, design and implement new technologies, assess and recommend changes to the existing Linux environment, and automate repetitive tasks. Key responsibilities include migrating to RHEL 9, applying hardening standards, fixing vulnerabilities, and migrating legacy environments to IAAS. The role requires strong technical skills in Linux administration, cloud technologies, and automation tools, along with soft skills such as adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Mission Context:

• As a Linux engineer, you will be part of the TechOps team, focusing on infrastructure projects and the design and implementation of new technologies.
• Function Description:
• Infrastructure Projects: Participate in various infrastructure projects.
• Design and Implementation: Design and implement new technologies.
• Assessment and Recommendations: Assess the existing Linux environment, determine necessary changes, and make recommendations.
• Feature Implementation and Testing: Be involved in the implementation and testing of new features.
• Automation: Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.

Key Tasks:

• Obsolescence: Migrate from RHEL 7 & RHEL 8 to RHEL 9.
• Administration & Changes: Administer and make changes to RHEL 7, 8 & 9 environments.
• Hardening: Apply the latest hardening standards, automate configurations and controls.
• Vulnerability Fixing: Identify impacted assets, estimate possible impacts of mitigation, design solutions, and automate the process.
• IAAS Migration: Migrate legacy environments to IAAS.

Language Requirements:

• Dutch (optional)
• French (optional)
• English (fluent)

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Certifications are a plus.

Technical Experience:

• Mandatory: RHEL 7, 8 & 9, Ansible, Bash, Python, IBM Cloud, IAAS, Kubernetes, Docker, VMware, Elastic Search.
• Preferable: Windows Server, network knowledge, firewalls.
• Business Experience:
• Agile methodologies.
