The Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) department manages critical buildings, HVAC systems, utilities and technical infrastructure across the sites in Beerse, Geel, Olen and Ghent.

For the Central Utilities (CU) sub-department in Beerse, responsible for the central production and distribution of utilities to chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D buildings, we are looking for a Process Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to projects within the CU environment to ensure safe, reliable, sustainable and energy-efficient installations, infrastructure and systems, with strong attention to maintainability throughout the asset life cycle.
  • Coordinate ad-hoc multidisciplinary teams to optimize new and existing systems and processes from a safety, quality, energy, economic and environmental perspective.
  • Ensure that all technical systems comply with high internal and external standards throughout their full life cycle.
  • Initiate and shape new projects in close collaboration with the Business Portfolio Owner (BPO) Central Utilities.
  • Act as deputy system owner and support technical ownership of CU installations.
  • Take on a mentoring role towards junior colleagues and act as a key technical point of contact for external engineering partners and contractors.
QualificationsEducation:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent through experience.

Experience and Skills:

Required:
  • Experience in an industrial environment in an operational or engineering role (e.g. production, maintenance, process engineering or technical engineering).
  • Strong communication skills and a result-driven mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a project basis in a dynamic and sometimes pressurized environment.
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of a CMMS system (SAP) is highly desirable.
Other:

We expect you to have good written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English.
