To strengthen our national QSHE organization, we are looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking National Dangerous Goods Manager to drive compliance, safety, and operational excellence across all business units in our sites in Belgium.

As the National Dangerous Goods Manager, you will oversee all Dangerous Goods (DG) and Hazardous Materials (HazMat) activities in line with corporate QSHE standards, the Integrated Management System (IMS), and national/international regulations. You will act as the subject‑matter expert in this stand‑alone position, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient DG processes across the country for transport and storage while fostering a strong culture of DG/HazMat awareness. You have strong analytical skills and ability to identify root causes. You are comfortable working in a matrix organization and across cultures. You are a person with managerial skills who’s self‑motivated, resilient, and able to deliver results within agreed timelines together with the QSHE team members. Also confident in challenging the status quo and driving innovation. This is a full‑time position, based in Antwerp. Frequent travel to the other sites within Belgium is necessary, including flexibility to work on site in our other offices elsewhere.

How you create impact

• Implement, monitor, and track national DG/HazMat targets, including customer‑specific requirements. Monitor monthly DG/HazMat KPIs (incidents, CAPAs, audits) and prepare reports to support decision‑making.
• Liaise with customers, authorities, certification bodies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on DG/HazMat matters. Promote synergies across business units and collaborate with the global QSHE team.
• Support business and functional units in implementing DG/HazMat requirements and maintaining close collaboration.
• Oversee regulatory enforcement actions in cooperation with QSHE and external agencies.
• Coordinate the national DG specialist network and compile the Annual DGSA Report (where applicable).
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Support external audits (vendors, customers, certification bodies). Support national Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning.
• Lead gap analyses and drive continuous improvement of QSHE processes, CAPAs, and training materials.
• Coach and develop staff, including performance management and training needs assessment. Skilled in leading workshops and training sessions.

What we would like you to bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or QSHE is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DG/HazMat regulations and standards is required, present via min 5 years of QSHE work experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain management work setting.
• Must have Internal Lead Auditor qualification, aside of 2–5 years of leadership experience (direct and functional).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 is favourable and experience with food safety or healthcare/pharma standards.
• Proficient user of MS package and experience with IMS implementation & maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal fluently in English.
• Strong background in project management, process engineering, environmental compliance and continuous improvement. Lean management knowledge is preferred.
• Open to travel frequently between the different sites in Belgium.
