Senior Policy Officer – Energy & Technical Affairs Brussels | Full-time Liquid Gas Europe About Liquid Gas Europe Liquid Gas Europe is the Brussels-based association representing the liquid gas industry at EU level. We advocate for a technology-neutral, pragmatic and socially balanced energy transition, promoting renewable liquid gases including bioLPG and rDME. As a small but influential association, we work closely with EU institutions, national associations and industry stakeholders. Position Overview Liquid Gas Europe is seeking a Senior Policy Officer (7–10 years of experience) to lead and manage key EU energy policy files with a strong technical and regulatory dimension. This is a hands-on role combining strategic policy development and operational execution. The successful candidate will take ownership of priority legislative files and play a central role in shaping and implementing the association's advocacy strategy. Key Responsibilities Policy Leadership and Ownership • Lead priority EU legislative files (e.g. ETS II, Energy Taxation Directive, Renewable Energy Directive, Clean Industrial Deal and related initiatives). • Monitor, analyse and assess regulatory developments affecting LPG, bioLPG and renewable liquid gases. • Translate technical and regulatory developments into clear advocacy positions. • Draft position papers, consultation responses, briefings and speaking points. Technical and Regulatory Analysis • Analyse delegated acts, implementing regulations and impact assessments. • Work closely with member companies and technical experts to structure and consolidate input. • Develop clear regulatory mapping and risk assessments. • Ensure technical robustness and consistency in all policy outputs. Member and Stakeholder Engagement • Lead and coordinate policy working groups. • Represent Liquid Gas Europe in EU stakeholder platforms, coalitions and meetings with EU institutions. • Maintain structured follow-up and stakeholder tracking. Organisational Contribution • Contribute to strategic planning of advocacy priorities. • Develop internal tracking tools and structured file management. • Support the General Manager in preparing Board materials and high-level briefings. Profile Experience • 7–10 years of relevant experience in EU energy policy (association, consultancy, EU institution, industry or regulatory environment). • Demonstrated experience working on complex EU legislative files. • Strong understanding of EU decision-making processes. Technical Competence • Solid regulatory literacy (ETS, RED, taxation, emissions accounting, state aid or related fields). • Ability to understand and assess technical input from industry. • Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
