Mechanical Quality Inspector


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation, management, and ongoing maintenance of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management systems
  • Prepare and maintain quality plans, procedures, manuals, and supporting documentation
  • Liaise with clients to ensure quality requirements, standards, and procedures are submitted, approved, and implemented in line with agreed schedules
  • Plan, conduct, and complete internal and external audits
  • Provide guidance and support to management on quality assurance matters
  • Ensure all required documentation and certification is accurate, complete, and verified prior to project handover
  • Chair and participate in weekly coordination meetings with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Control project documentation by reviewing and updating records to reflect policy changes and ISO requirements
  • Report progress, issues, and findings directly to the Project Manager
  • Organise and attend site inspections related to installation activities
  • Carry out ongoing quality inspections throughout all stages of project delivery
  • Coordinate and attend benchmarking inspections to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain and update “Right First Time” records and quality procedures
  • Manage the handover of completed systems or project areas to the client’s team
  • Ensure QA/QC procedures used across projects are consistent, standardised, and fully incorporated into the company’s QA/QC manual
  • Perform any additional duties associated with the role as required


Essential Criteria:

  • Third-level or professional qualification in a relevant discipline, preferably with a mechanical focus
  • Minimum of three years’ experience carrying out quality walk-downs on construction sites
  • At least three years’ experience performing QA/QC inspections on large-scale construction projects ideally data centres
  • Strong working knowledge of inspection processes and completion of inspection forms in line with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time-management abilities
  • High standards of professional integrity, including reliability, commitment, and respect for others
  • Proactive, confident, and solution-focused approach to resolving quality-related issues
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional quality reports
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
