Over the past years, we've developed solutions for clients such as Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Medi-Market, Burger King, Quick, IKEA, DEME, Proximus, Orange, D'Ieteren, VDAB and Hooyberghs. And recently we even built a Digital Twin of European airspace for EUROCONTROL, that can be used both on desktop and in XR! We design, build and integrate our software into the client’s ecosystem using hyper-innovative technologies. Mr. Watts colleagues have an intrinsic "can-do" mentality and work dedicatedly; usually over a tune in the background; with a smile and a joke!

What will be your responsibilities?

• You build backend and frontend applications using .NET, NodeJS/TypeScript and React as part of our solutions, tailor-made to the needs of our customers.
• You implement visually beautiful and performant interfaces based on provided wireframes and designs, according to modern standards.
• You build APIs conforming to specifications such as OpenAPI or GraphQL.
• Likewise, consuming these APIs is no problem for you.
• You follow architectural designs and input laid out by our software architect, filling in the smaller details and structuring the codebase optimally yourself.
• You ensure good user experience(s) for the end-user in all your work, together with our UX designer.
• You set up infrastructure, services and CI/CD required to host and support our applications on Azure.
• You come up with innovative 'Proof-of-Concepts' within the business domain of our clients and Digital Twins.
• You monitor the aspects surrounding privacy, security and authentication in our projects.
• For all of this you work directly with your colleagues in a close-knit team.

Who are you?

Two (2) to four (4) years of professional experience as a full stack developer.

Frontend:

• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and (React based) web components.
• Solid understanding of modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of building medium to large React apps using common dependencies.
• Solid understanding of the NodeJS / NPM ecosystem to support modern frontend web development.

Backend:

• Understanding of the .NET standard library and C# language features.
• Understanding of how .NET assemblies work.
• Knowledge of NodeJS / NPM and its ecosystem to develop backend applications.
• Knowledge of common MS Azure services for web development.
• Understanding of dependency injection and service containers.
• Understanding of OOP design patterns and design principles.
• Understanding of how to build backwards compatible APIs conforming to standards like OpenAPI and GraphQL.
• Knowledge of common relational databases and SQL; specifically PostgreSQL.

General:

• Good knowledge of the GIT version control system and the workflows it can support.
• Understanding of how works, especially with respect to appropriate headers, status codes, authentication, encryption, security, privacy, and caching.
• Sufficient understanding of the GDPR to take appropriate measures into account as developer.
• Knowledge of how containers work and how to build them.
• Understanding of how to program asynchronously using Tasks and async / await / promises.
• You thrive in a young team that is open-minded and passionate about tech.
• You communicate fluently; both orally and in writing, in Dutch and English.

Bonus points for:

• Knowledge of the JAVA programming language and ecosystem to developer backend applications.
• Understanding of how CI / CD works for static analysis, automated testing, and deployment / delivery.
• Experience in working with common tooling to guarantee code standards (ESLint, prettier, .NET format, .NET Roslyn, etc...).
• Knowledge of how to write automated tests.
• Understanding of the most common vulnerabilities and how to avoid them.
• Interest in other programming languages and paradigms.
