Network Security engineer - Netskope/ VPN IPSEC/ WAF

NTT DATA is actively looking for a Network Security engineer for one of its partners in Brussels. This freelance position is hybrid (3 days a week).

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of network security measures.
• Develop and deploy security strategies to protect networks against cyber attacks and unauthorized access.
• Set up and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and other security features.
• Continuously monitor networks to detect and respond to security incidents.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Diagnose and solve network security problems.
• Provide advanced technical support and collaborate with other teams to resolve incidents.

Technical Skills

Network Management and Routing: Understanding of network management fundamentals, including configuring and managing routers and switches. Knowledge of routing protocols (dynamic, static, inter‑domain), Express Route, ISP connections, WiFi, DNS, TACACS.

Network Security: Expertise in setting up and managing firewalls, VPN solutions, proxies (forward and reverse), and load balancers.

Cloud Security and Secure Access: Understanding of securing cloud environments, protecting data in transit and at rest, securing access. Mastery of ZTNA concepts.

Security Incident Management: Ability to detect and respond to security incidents, analyze threats, and respond to vulnerabilities.

Automation and Scripting: Skills in automating network tasks to improve operational efficiency, using common scripting languages.

Knowledge of Operating Systems: Familiarity with operating systems used in network environments.

Security Standards and Protocols: Knowledge of network security standards and cryptography protocols to secure communications.
