About the Role

We are looking for a Freelance Automation Engineer with strong CoDeSys programming experience to support exciting automation projects within the Food & Beverage sector. You will play a key role in ensuring production lines run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with strict industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize PLC software in CoDeSys (IEC 61131-3) for production and packaging lines.
• Commission and troubleshoot automation systems in a food & beverage production environment.
• Integrate PLC systems with HMI/SCADA platforms for real-time monitoring and control.
• Collaborate with process engineers, electrical engineers, and quality teams to deliver robust solutions.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards during automation implementation.
• Provide technical support, documentation, and operator training where required.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on expertise in CoDeSys PLC programming.
• Proven track record in Food & Beverage automation (production lines, packaging, filling, bottling, process control).
• Knowledge of fieldbus communication protocols (EtherCAT, Profibus, Modbus, etc.).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA integration.
• Familiarity with food industry standards (HACCP, GMP) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently in fast-paced production environments.
• Fluent in Dutch
