Financial Accountant

Context

Nuclear medicine has evolved considerably over recent years with the emergence of radiotheranostics, a modality which combines targeted diagnosis and therapy with radio-isotopes. It offers an important and promising alternative in the treatment of many cancers. Radiotheranostics is based on the use of radio-isotopes which, when they decay, emit radiation that enables cancer cells to be precisely located and/or destroyed. Among these radio-isotopes, one of the most promising for therapeutic purposes is the alpha-emitting Actinium-225.

One of the main challenges to making this therapeutic solution accessible for the greatest number of patients is ensuring the availability of high-quality Actinium-225 in large quantities. It is often referred to within the community as “the rarest drug on Earth”. By joining their unique expertise and resources, SCK CEN and IBA have launched the company PanTera, which aims at enabling the production of Actinium-225.

As PanTera grows, our need for administrative support increases. We are continuously evolving, establishing processes and systems that will enhance our efficiency. To support our growth, we are looking for a dynamic Financial Accountant.

This role primarily focuses on accounting and administrative tasks and involves close collaboration with various team members, including a direct working relationship with the Accounting Manager and the Director of Finance and Administration.

We seek a candidate with a strong hands-on mentality and excellent organizational skills. Proactivity, flexibility, and teamwork are essential qualities for success in this small team. The ideal candidate will have an open mindset and be willing to take on tasks beyond those explicitly outlined in the job description.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting: Execute a broad spectrum of accounting tasks including data entry, purchase invoice processing, fixed asset accounting, credit card statements, expense reporting, booking of bank statements, follow up on overdue accounts receivable, etc...
• Tax: monthly VAT filings and monitoring of compliance with VAT rules.
• Reporting: Prepare internal and external reports for different stakeholders
• Purchase Order Administration: Monitor correct application of the 3-way match principle in accordance with a well-defined process between approved PO’s, Warehouse receipts and Purchase invoices
• Monitor and Manage the “finance” mailbox
• Stock Monitoring: Monitor inventory levels, ensuring stock is correctly administered, take part in regular stock counts
• ERP: Assist in further developing and fine-tuning the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central)
• Development of processes: Assist in developing and documenting financial processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.
• Day-to-Day and End-to-End Administrative Tasks: Perform a variety of administrative tasks
• Close Collaboration with Administrative Colleagues: Work closely with other administrative staff to ensure cohesive and efficient support across all departments. Act as a back-up.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent by experience
• Minimum of 3 years in a financial or accounting function
• Experience with working with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or Microsoft Navision is a strong asset
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical and / or nuclear industry is a plus

• Attention to detail and timely completion of tasks
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in English and Dutch
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with ERP’s
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
• Self-starter, capable of working independently as well as in team
• Quick learner and able to work in a fast-changing environment
• Social and outgoing, with a natural ability to engage with colleagues and stakeholders
