Position: IT Inventory Manager (Project Manager)
Location: Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Elsene)
Start Date: July 1, 2025
Duration: At least 7 months (140 man-days), with a possible extension of 6 months
Languages Required: Dutch and English
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Inventory Manager (Project Manager) to coordinate the implementation and transition of IT infrastructure projects within a university setting. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing complex data center and IT asset-related initiatives from inception to completion. You will ensure smooth coordination between teams and successful project delivery, while communicating regularly with stakeholders at all levels.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree (preferably in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline), or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in project management
- Experience working within a university or academic environment
- Proven expertise in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
- Solid technical background in:
- Data center facilities and infrastructure
- Network/system administration
- Virtualization platforms
- Data center migrations
Project Experience Requirements
You have successfully managed projects involving:
- Physical data center installation and equipment setup
- Network and systems implementation
- Application migration between data centers
- Transition and handover to operational teams
- Experience with supercomputer installation is required

- Report regularly to the Program Manager, CIO, and Steering Committee
- Facilitate effective communication and alignment across all stakeholders
- Take on a motivational and facilitating role for teams, providing leadership and support
- Encourage a strong team culture with clear objectives and shared accountability
