Position: IT Inventory Manager (Project Manager)

Location: Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Elsene)

Start Date: July 1, 2025

Duration: At least 7 months (140 man-days), with a possible extension of 6 months

Languages Required: Dutch and English

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Inventory Manager (Project Manager) to coordinate the implementation and transition of IT infrastructure projects within a university setting. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing complex data center and IT asset-related initiatives from inception to completion. You will ensure smooth coordination between teams and successful project delivery, while communicating regularly with stakeholders at all levels.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree (preferably in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline), or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in project management
• Experience working within a university or academic environment
• Proven expertise in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
• Solid technical background in:
• Data center facilities and infrastructure
• Network/system administration
• Virtualization platforms
• Data center migrations

Project Experience Requirements

You have successfully managed projects involving:

• Physical data center installation and equipment setup
• Network and systems implementation
• Application migration between data centers
• Transition and handover to operational teams
• Experience with supercomputer installation is required

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality expectations
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to plan and execute project activities
• Report regularly to the Program Manager, CIO, and Steering Committee
• Facilitate effective communication and alignment across all stakeholders
• Take on a motivational and facilitating role for teams, providing leadership and support
• Encourage a strong team culture with clear objectives and shared accountability
