We are seeking an experienced Functional Analyst to support one of our biggest vendors in Belgium the migration of its GEOSYS test processing modules from Visual Basic desktop applications to Java-based web applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain a thorough understanding of existing GEOSYS applications and their functionalities.
- Analyze the interaction between GEOSYS modules and the broader system landscape.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather and validate requirements.
- Produce detailed functional analyses and documentation.
- Define and document User Stories and Epics with clear acceptance criteria in Jira.
- Collaborate with the development team and IT Manager on sprint planning, development schedules, and release content.
- Conduct first-line testing and coordinate broader test sessions.
- Collect and evaluate feedback from interim and final releases.
- Contribute to production readiness planning and deployment considerations.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and user manuals.
- Track bugs, enhancement requests, and changes for related applications, including:
- Geocore (file management)
- Laboratory Reporting (test monitoring and scheduling)
- Drilling Record & Sample Management (sample tracking)
- Cone Probing
- Support the APEX team with analyses where interdependencies exist.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of requirement analysis, data and process modelling, and system design.
- Knowledge of OO (Object-Oriented), multi-tier, and web-enabled environments; familiarity with UML.
- Experience collaborating with software development teams using tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Technical understanding of Java web application development and PostgreSQL environments.
- Familiarity with Visual Basic (for reference analysis of legacy modules).
