Functional Analyst

We are seeking an experienced
Functional Analyst
to support one of our biggest vendors in Belgium the migration of its
GEOSYS
test processing modules from
Visual Basic desktop applications
to
Java-based web applications
.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain a thorough understanding of existing
  GEOSYS
  applications and their functionalities.
• Analyze the interaction between GEOSYS modules and the broader system landscape.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather and validate requirements.
• Produce detailed
  functional analyses
  and documentation.
• Define and document
  User Stories
  and
  Epics
  with clear acceptance criteria in
  Jira
  .
• Collaborate with the development team and IT Manager on
  sprint planning
  , development schedules, and release content.
• Conduct
  first-line testing
  and coordinate broader test sessions.
• Collect and evaluate feedback from interim and final releases.
• Contribute to production readiness planning and deployment considerations.
• Maintain up-to-date
  documentation
  and
  user manuals
  .
• Track bugs, enhancement requests, and changes for related applications, including:
• Geocore
  (file management)
• Laboratory Reporting
  (test monitoring and scheduling)
• Drilling Record & Sample Management
  (sample tracking)
• Cone Probing
• Support the
  APEX
  team with analyses where interdependencies exist.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of
  requirement analysis
  ,
  data and process modelling
  , and
  system design
  .
• Knowledge of
  OO (Object-Oriented)
  ,
  multi-tier
  , and
  web-enabled
  environments; familiarity with
  UML
  .
• Experience collaborating with
  software development teams
  using tools like
  Jira
  and
  Confluence
  .
• Technical understanding of
  Java web application
  development and
  PostgreSQL
  environments.
• Familiarity with
  Visual Basic
  (for reference analysis of legacy modules).
• Migration from
  Visual Basic
  to
  Java
  web applications
• PostgreSQL
  database
• Jira
  and
  Confluence
  for project and documentation management
