Category Manager

Our client is a global pharmaceutical manufacturer. In support of a large capital projects investment program, we are looking to hire an experienced Capital Procurement Lead to lead the sourcing and category management Engineering Services, Capital Equipment and Construction.

Job Title:- Category Manager (EPC/EPCM/ Machinery Equipment)

This is a long term (12 months+) contract engagement, offered on a hybrid basis in Belgium close to Antwerp.

Working with both key engineering stakeholders, and the global procurement group, key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for a portfolio of capital categories (Engineering Services, Capital Equipment and Construction).
• Collaborate & partner with engineering, manufacturing, regional site management and operations to understand company strategy, business trends & capital investment
• Ensure appropriate stakeholders are identified and managed. Seek for senior sponsorship to understands strategic business requirements
• Create & implement 1-3-5 year strategic sourcing strategies and lead sourcing including RFX, negotiations and contracting
• Provide the leadership, strategy and policy for the category, building a high-performance engagement model with the business and regions
• Optimize value and ensure appropriate risk mitigation considering assurance of supply, quality, service, cost, innovation and regulatory compliance
• Manage supplier performance against business requirements using proven processes

Experience required:

• 7 + years of procurement experience within a global procurement organization
• Experience in procurement of Capital categories (Engineering Services, Capital Equipment and Construction).
• Capabilities in sourcing & supplier strategies, sourcing methodology, supplier relationship management, negotiation, legal, supplier risk management, claim management
• Fluency in German or Flemish/Dutch is essential.
• Experience within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology sector strongly preferred
