Senior Python Engineer

📍 Location: Brussels | 💼 Type: Full-time, Permanent (CDI)

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Python Engineer to join the engineering team of a forward-thinking player in the energy industry. This role is perfect for someone who loves building robust backend systems, enjoys technical challenges, and wants to grow into a leadership position.

What You’ll Work On

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable microservices with a focus on reliability, security, and performance
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs using FastAPI
• Manage data effectively with PostgreSQL, Redis, and distributed systems
• Containerize services with Docker and manage deployments via Kubernetes
• Champion engineering quality through automated testing (unit, integration, E2E), code reviews, and clean code practices
• Work closely with product and domain architecture teams to align technical decisions with business needs

What You Bring

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on Python (Django / FastAPI)
• Proven experience designing and evolving microservices architectures in production
• Solid DevOps experience (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability, cost control)
• Strong knowledge of software quality best practices: testing strategies, monitoring, security, versioning
• Leadership mindset — ability to guide peers, make sound technical decisions, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams
• Fluency in English and either French or Dutch
