1. About the Role
As our QHSE Manager, you will be the driving force behind our commitment to Zero Defects, Zero Accidents, and focus on sustainability. You will lead the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy across our operations and embed a customer intimate culture of proactive risk elimination, process ownership, and continuous improvement.
The QHSE Manager is a member of the management team and reports directly to the COO. Coaches and motivates a small team of quality engineers and HSE engineer.
2. Key Responsibilities
Quality (Q)
- Ensure Customer satisfaction by guaranteeing product conformity and proactive problem solution by taking joint and swift decisions
- Lead the Quality department with a focus on Zero Defects at the Source
- Implement and sustain systems for Autonomous Quality, empowering suppliers and operators to own their quality processes
- Drive root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Why’s, Fishbone, FMEA) and implement robust countermeasures
- Develop and maintain quality standards, visual controls, and error-proofing systems (Poka-Yoke)
- Analyze Quality Cost Deployment (QCD) to prioritize impactful improvements
- Implement and improve process of new product & process introduction
- Provide advice regarding the (re)design and development of the product and bring this in line with customer expectation (and vice versa). (PCR/ECO)
Health & Safety (HSE)
- Foster a zero-accident culture by promoting safe behaviours, hazard elimination, and strict compliance with regulations
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, implementing effective corrective actions
- Lead safety-related training, toolbox talks, and employee engagement campaigns
- Ensure full compliance with local environmental, health, and safety legislation
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Champion cross-functional Kaizen activities to eliminate waste and improve safety, quality, and efficiency
- Engage all levels of the organization, from shop floor to leadership, in WCM-driven QHSE improvement
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key QHSE KPIs and performance trends
- Facilitate external and internal audits and ensure ongoing certification compliance
3. Required qualifications
- Master in technical engineering.
- In depth understanding of QA/QC procedures and relevant standards.
- Team player, who likes to connect and work over departments
- Knowlede of HSE best practices and standards
- Experience in a production environment in a quality position
- Knowledge and use of the different problem-solving tools and other continuous improvement tools
- Skills to analyze, evaluate and make decisions and to manage projects (use of Excel,…)
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Act as a representative of the company towards third parties
- Willingness to travel (10%)
