Global Medical Safety Lead

Planet Pharma are partnered with a leading biotech and we are actively seeking an experienced Global Medical Safety Lead to join the business on a permanent basis, remotely in Belgium or Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the global safety strategy for assigned products throughout their lifecycle, from development to post-marketing.
• Oversee ongoing safety surveillance, signal detection, evaluation, and communication of safety risks in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Act as the safety expert on internal governance committees (e.g., Safety Review Board, Product Development Teams), providing strategic input on safety-related decisions.
• Lead the preparation and review of safety sections for regulatory documents (e.g., DSURs, PSURs/PBRERs, RMPs, IBs, and safety responses to health authorities).
• Collaborate with clinical development, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and other relevant functions to ensure accurate and consistent safety messaging across all platforms.
• Provide medical review and interpretation of individual case safety reports (ICSRs), aggregate safety data, and clinical trial safety data.
• Perform ongoing benefit-risk assessments of products and ensure proper documentation and communication of findings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of safety processes, systems, and SOPs to support global safety compliance and operational efficiency.
• Lead matrixed safety teams and mentor junior safety physicians or scientists.
• Ensure all safety activities comply with global regulations (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA) and support audits and inspections as needed.
