Our Public Affairs consultancy is seeking an experienced Consultant who is passionate about EU energy policies to play a leading role in assessing policy impacts and designing and executing public affairs strategies for our clients. Leveraging your sector expertise, you will provide insights on emerging trends, risks and opportunities while engaging with key EU stakeholders at all levels. As a Senior Consultant you will be the policy lead of a small, talented team consisting of an Associate Director and Consultants. You will take ownership of client portfolios and ensure excellence in delivery, while mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to team development. This role requires strong analytical and strategic capabilities, sound political judgement, and hands-on experience with EU advocacy campaigns. The ideal candidate has a deep and holistic understanding of the challenges shaping policymaking at the intersection of energy, climate, and industrial policy. If so, you could be the professional we are looking for Main Responsibilities: Serve as client lead, taking overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of work, ensuring high-quality outputs and consistently strong client satisfaction. Serve as policy lead of the energy team, staying on top of policy developments, debates, legislation, and regulatory trends, providing clients with critical and analytical insights. Together with the Associate Director, develop and lead the implementation of public affairs strategies that align with client and company objectives, and advise clients on strategic positioning, action plans, and campaigns. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including European Commission officials, MEPs, and industry representatives, and actively network by attending relevant sector events and policymaking debates. Contribute to team management by mentoring, guiding, and coordinating the work of junior colleagues, while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including leading pitches and preparing proposals. What We're Looking For: Proven experience in EU public affairs with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role in another consultancy, EU institution, think tank, or NGO, and a strong understanding of the EU energy & competitiveness political landscape, including key stakeholders and relevant policy files. Experience in developing and executing strategies, leading advocacy campaigns, and advising clients on political and regulatory challenges. Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with strong business acumen, political judgement, and a proactive, can-do attitude. A collaborative team player who thrives in teamwork, supports colleagues, but can also work independently; someone who values efficiency and knows how to communicate effectively with corporate clients, translating complex policy into clear and actionable briefs. Excellent speaking, writing, and reading skills in English (at least C1), with a professional network that you actively maintain and expand.
