Strategic Buyer

At Piping Logistics BV, we develop components for sprinkler (fire protection) and HVAC installations, this for the European market. These are both custom-made solutions and a wide range of standard products.

With our privileged location in the centre of Europe, we strive for just-in-time deliveries. The “PROFIT” brand has been established in the fire protection industry market for 15 years and more recently making a name in the HVAC industry as well. Besides the head office in Aalst, we also recently opened a production site in Romania.

Today, the Profit brand consists of a wide range of grooved fittings, couplings and accessories combined with a growing range of valves and hoses. To continue supporting our fast growing business we are looking for a Strategic Purchaser.

FUNCTION

In the role of Strategic Buyer, you will define the organisation’s procurement policy including its targets. You will also determine the procurement strategy, i.e. the way in which the company will achieve its procurement goals. In addition, you will decide how the supplier management should look like.

You are involved in every part of the supply chain and will strategically combine all the different links of it. This includes the storage of goods, inbound transport flows, logistics, purchasing and sales. Here, you will look at both short-term and long-term purchasing policy and have an eye for current prices and market evolutions.

• Build and maintain purchasing partnerships.
• Monitor supplier performance + organise quality audits.
• Drafting procurement quality improvement plans.
• Optimising the procurement process.
• Thinking about the procurement policy with management.
• Acting as a sparring partner for procurement-related issues.
• Supporting and coaching your purchasing colleagues.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with technical affinity/background or equivalent is a plus.
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a purchasing role, in an international environment.
• Excellent and proven negotiation skills.
• Good people relations and management skills.
• Willing to travel.
• You are flexible and can work independently.
• You can handle work pressure well and work accurately.
