About the Role

RELYzIT Talent is seeking a freelance Solution Architect (tactical domain level) for a 12-month mission in Brussels. You'll join our client's transformation journey at the heart of the Belgian public sector, taking ownership of the functional and technical architecture for one of seven key business domains. Your work will shape how complex processes and information are modeled, understood, and delivered — directly impacting the future of digital public services.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and document architecture deliverables that provide clear insight into domain functions, business processes, and information concepts
• Co-define business services in close collaboration with business stakeholders
• Align business architecture with application architecture, working hand-in-hand with the domain application architect
• Prepare and shape both strategic and tactical changes at a high level
• Produce clear functional scoping for work packages delivered to project and product teams
• Embed architecture deliverables into tactical governance alongside the Domain Portfolio Manager
• Harmonize vocabulary and understanding between business and IT stakeholders
• Ensure frameworks and methodologies are consistently understood and applied
• Participate in the architect community, contributing to methodology and transversal topics
• Coach and mentor other architects on collaboration models, ArchiMate usage, stakeholder engagement, and change management

Technical Skills & Experience

• Expert-level proficiency in ArchiMate
• Deep experience in Business Process Management, process development, and optimization
• Expertise in project management (scope, budget, time)
• Proven ability to structure and model complex domains, simplifying and clarifying for diverse audiences
• Experience in large-scale organizations employees)
• Concrete experience within a federal public service environment
• Demonstrated track record coaching and guiding other architects

Language Proficiency

• Dutch: Native
• French: Active knowledge
• English: Active knowledge

Other Requirements

• Freelance position with a 12-month full-time engagement
• Hybrid work mode: 2 days per week on-site in Brussels required
• Ability to submit a CV including 5 lines describing your approach as a Solution Architect
• Mindset: Strong communicator, team player, coach/mentor, and protector of the "big lines"
