material planner

We are looking for a material planner to become part of an international team focusing on building effective and sustainable long-term relationships with both suppliers and customers.

The supplier planner act as the liaison between customers and suppliers and is the first point of contact. He/she is responsible for managing and optimizing relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials. This position reports directly to the supplier planner coordinator and works closely with branch operations as well as other members of the operations and purchasing division.

Main responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for assigned suppliers, including leading recurring meetings as necessary.
• Place and schedule orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Expedite materials as needed and take appropriate action in case of shortage.
• Follow up on supplier backlog to ensure timely resolution and maintain supply continuity.
• Collaborate closely with the customer planners to obtain and relay information from the supplier side.
• Act as the point of contact for internal departments to facilitate smooth communication and address any supply-related concerns.
• Manage changes and implementations of items (PCM) to ensure seamless integration.
• Optimize packaging and labelling processes at supplier locations to enhance efficiency and reduce traffic.

Organization

Our client is a full-service provider for fastening technologies in the automotive industry. Their European headquarters are located in Belgium.

Profile

• Master or Bachelor degree
• Relevant working experience in material planning is great, but an enthusiastic young graduate in supply chain management is also welcome
• A logic and analytical mindset and excellent communication skills are must haves
• Being able to work accurately and proficient with Excel is a requirement, having worked with SAP is an asset
• Flexibility, persistency and entrepreneurship are key
• Very good knowledge of English is required, practical knowledge of Dutch
