IT Security Expert (Freelance – Liège, Belgium)

Contract: 5.5 months (extension highly likely)

Location: Liège – 4 days/week on-site after onboarding | Partial remote

An established organisation in the energy/critical infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced IT Security Expert to join its growing cybersecurity function.

This role offers a great opportunity to make a real impact across both IT and OT environments, contributing to long-term security strategy and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and implement Privileged Access Management solutions
• Enhance EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) capabilities
• Contribute to cloud security projects
• Lead vulnerability management for systems and networks
• Improve and secure Active Directory configurations
• Evaluate and strengthen network infrastructure security
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to reduce risk
• Provide cross-functional insights on security impacts to operations

Skills & Experience

• Proven background in IT Security, ideally in critical infrastructure or industrial environments
• Strong knowledge of:
• Privileged Access Management
• EDR solutions
• Cloud Security
• Vulnerability Management
• Network Security
• Active Directory Security
• Exposure to OT security is a strong plus
• Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices
• Excellent communication skills in French and/or English
• CISSP or equivalent certification preferred
