Overview :
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior System Administrator to lead the development and evolution of the organisation’s software and systems infrastructure. As a Senior System Administrator, you will together with the team while ensuring the reliability, performance, and modernisation of server environments. You will work within a bilingual, interdisciplinary team and collaborate closely with experts in telecommunications interception, infrastructure engineering, and IT operations. Your mission will be to:
Responsibilities:
Systems Engineering & Infrastructure Management
· Administer and maintain server environments (Windows/Linux).
· Manage Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP.
· Monitor and optimise virtualised environments (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V).
· Ensure system security, patching, backups, and business continuity.
· Contribute to the design and evolution of robust, scalable system architectures.
· Automate recurring tasks using scripting tools (Python, PowerShell, Pearl, Ansible).
· Collaborate with network, security, and support teams to ensure end-to-end system reliability.
Operational Excellence & Collaboration
· Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues (software or system-related).
· Take ownership of assigned tasks, assess risks, and escalate when needed.
· Document infrastructure, processes, and application components.
· Work effectively in a multilingual, interdisciplinary environment.
· Contribute as a team player while being fully capable of working independently.
Required experience:
· Minimum 7 years of experience in system administration (Windows and Linux).
· Solid skills in virtualisation, storage, and security.
· Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, AWS) is a plus.
· Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python or equivalent).
· Understanding of infrastructure components (network, security, identity management).
Soft Skills and Professional qualities
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, or equivalent professional experience.
Fluent in French or Dutch, with good understanding of the other language.
· Good command of written and spoken technical English.
