Head of Events


ppSolarPower Europe is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and strategic Head of Events to lead the planning, delivery, and continuous development of the association’s award‑winning flagship events. /p pSolarPower Europe is a member‑led association representing the European solar sector. SolarPower Europe’s aim is to ensure that more energy is generated by solar than any other energy source by 2023 and lead our members to make solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system. We are an award‑winning association and have over 300 members spanning 35 countries. We aim to produce thought‑leading energy market analysis and support the business of our members through creative and successful advocacy campaigns. SolarPower Europe believes innovative solutions arise from diverse teams that receive input from a range of experiences and perspectives. We are multicultural, representing more than 20 nationalities and 21 languages. /p pThis senior role combines bstrategic ownership of high‑profile European events /b with bhands‑on delivery /b, cross‑team coordination, and bpeople management /b, overseeing a team of three events professionals. The role plays a key part in positioning SolarPower Europe as the leading convenor of the European solar sector. /p h3Job responsibilities /h3 pbEvents Strategy Leadership /b /p ul liOversee the implementation of all of SolarPower Europe’s flagship events, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, policy priorities, and member value. /li liLead the conception, planning, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of SolarPower Europe’s own and co‑organised events, including conferences, exhibitions, policy roundtables, workshops, webinars, and member events. /li liEnsure events are impactful platforms for advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and thought leadership at European level. /li /ul pbEvent Planning Delivery /b /p ul liOversee end‑to‑end event management, including concept development, budgeting, logistics, supplier management, programme development, speaker coordination, and onsite delivery. /li liWork closely with other SolarPower Europe teams and departments to ensure strong content, messaging, and audience engagement. /li liManage relationships with venues, suppliers, partners, sponsors, and service providers. /li /ul pbTeam Management /b /p ul liDirectly manage, coach, and develop three Events team members, ensuring clear objectives, workload prioritisation, and professional growth. /li liFoster a collaborative, high‑performing team culture, promoting best practices in project and event management. /li /ul pbStakeholder External Engagement /b /p ul liAct as a key point of contact for senior external stakeholders, including members, EU institutions, partners, and sponsors. /li liSupport other SolarPower Europe teams and departments in engaging high‑level speakers and institutional partners. /li liClosely collaborate with the Marketing team and the Sales team in promoting the event and event sponsorship sales. /li /ul pbBudgeting, Monitoring Evaluation /b /p ul liManage event budgets, ensuring cost control and value for money. /li liMonitor event performance, gather feedback, and continuously improve formats, processes, and participant experience. /li liEnsure compliance with internal procedures and sustainability objectives. /li /ul pbFlexibility Travel /b /p ul liIn line with the events calendar, occasional bout‑of‑hours work /b and btravel /b may be required. /li /ul h3Profile /h3 ul liAt least 8 years of experience in bevent management /b, including responsibility for complex, high‑profile events (at least 300 participants). /li liDemonstrated experience in bline management /b and team leadership. /li liStrong project management, organisational, and problem‑solving skills. /li liAbility to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven, and stakeholder‑rich environment. /li liExcellent written and verbal communication skills. /li liFluency in English. /li liExperience working in a European, policy, association, or international environment. /li liExperience engaging with senior stakeholders and public institutions. /li liFluency in an additional EU language. /li /ul h3Our offer /h3 ul liA bpermanent Belgian contract /b with a competitive remuneration package. /li liAttractive benefits package including public transportation allowance, work‑from‑home allowance, dental and hospitalisation insurance, and lunch vouchers. /li /ul h3Solar for All – Diversity, Equity Inclusion /h3 pDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion are at the heart of our mission to ensure solar is at the core of a smart, sustainable, and inclusive energy system. /p pWe strongly encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, as diversity strengthens our impact and perspective. /p h3Application /h3 pA CV (maximum 2 pages) and a one‑page motivation letter should be sent to until b15 March 2026 /b quoting b“Head of Events” /b in the subject line. /p pNote that while we recognise the role of generative AI tools within the workplace, we would like your cover letter to share and demonstrate your unique perspective and approach to the role.
