An internationally renowned law firm, celebrated for its creative and innovative legal solutions, is currently on the lookout for a dynamic, dedicated, and skilled EU Competition Paralegal to join their Brussels office. Located at the heart of Europe, this office is powered by a diverse and multilingual team of professionals from more than 25 nationalities. The chosen candidate will become an integral part of the firm's Practice Development team, focusing on legal research and knowledge management within the specialized field of EU Competition law.


Job Description:


For our partner, the EU Competition Paralegal will play a pivotal role in supporting the Brussels office’s attorneys who specialize in EU Competition Law. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including conducting in-depth legal and factual research related to EU Competition law, providing organizational support to case teams, and drafting and reviewing legal documents. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand complex legal documents, exhibit strong research skills, and possess a thorough understanding of EU Competition law concepts.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform substantive legal work requiring a deep understanding of legal concepts, particularly in the field of EU Competition law.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal and factual research, often involving the evaluation, interpretation, and summarization of legislation, case law, commentary, and business documents.
  • Draft and review briefs, memoranda, legal opinions, presentations, and publications.
  • Provide organizational support to case teams.
  • Perform language reviews, proofreading, and citation checks.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge management projects.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • A Master’s degree in law is preferred; alternatively, a degree in economics may be considered.
  • Excellent command of English, with any other European language being an asset.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft applications.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both oral and written).
