Job Title: Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administrator

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Day Rate: €430/day

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administrator to manage and maintain a large-scale Linux server environment (~600 servers) and support containerized applications. The role involves collaborating with IT, development, network, and security teams to design, deploy, and optimize infrastructure, automate processes, and implement DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, harden, and maintain Red Hat Linux servers (physical and virtual)
• Apply security patches, manage images for automated deployments, and monitor system health
• Manage user accounts, application service accounts, certificates, and SSH keys for non-interactive access
• Administer servers using Ansible and manage containers on Docker hosts and Kubernetes clusters
• Manage RH Satellite for package distribution and RH IdM for admin users
• Support OS management of Oracle physical clusters
• Participate in incident and problem management, troubleshooting, and operational improvements
• Contribute to design, implementation, and migration of new applications and infrastructure solutions
• Prepare operational guidelines, documentation, training materials, and implement procedures
• Conduct capacity planning, performance assessments, and strategic technology studies
• Follow ITIL best practices and maintain SLAs for operations

Required Skills & Expertise

• Red Hat Linux 6.x–10.x
• Ansible and automation scripting (Shell, Playbooks, Python)
• RH Satellite for patch management
• System hardening, vulnerability management, and security patching
• Virtualization environments
• DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, container technology
• ITIL best practices for ICT operations
• Knowledge of human resources aspects of operations: competencies, workloads, training, change management
• Experience in architecture and technology selection, installation, configuration, testing, and operations
• Recent hands-on experience with Linux server operations, monitoring, and SLAs

Desirable Skills

• Enterprise environments including SAN technology
• VMware ESX, vCenter
• Hyperconverged environments like Nutanix AHV, Prism Central
• Infrastructure as code, hybrid cloud, AWS, Azure
• Experience with complex enterprise applications and operational tools
