Location: Brussels, BE – near site.

Description Of The Tasks
- Design of Data Quality and Health Monitoring processes.
- Writing of technical documentation.
- Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system.
- Elaborate on Data governance topics, considering:
- Data quality: implement processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency and reliability across all data sources. Establish data quality metrics and monitoring systems to continuously assess and improve data integrity.
- Data lineage: set up a data lineage system to track the data flow from source to target. Ensure transparency and traceability of transformations and processes to facilitate troubleshooting and compliance.
- Data observability: implement tools and techniques to monitor data pipelines in real time. Develop dashboards and alerts for detecting anomalies, data drift, and pipeline failures to maintain robust data operations.
- Data catalogue / metadata management: establish and manage a comprehensive data catalogue to provide a centralised repository of metadata.
- (Personal) Data protection (GDPR): ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations. Develop policies and procedures for handling personal data, including consent management and data anonymisation.
- Data authorisation / access: design and implement data access control mechanisms. Develop attribute- or role-based access control policies and audit access logs.
- Data security: collaborate with the IT security team to develop and implement data security policies. Ensure data encryption and secure data storage.
- Data logging: establish data logging standards and practices to ensure comprehensive logging of data usage and changes. Implement log management solutions to facilitate auditing and compliance.
- Define best practises: develop and disseminate best practices for data management and governance within the organisation. Conduct trainings and workshops to promote a data driven culture.
- Act on AI governance, with a special concern on: AI ethics / fairness: develop frameworks and guidelines to ensure our AI applications are ethical and fair.
- AI Act compliance: stay updated on AI regulatory requirements and ensure organisational compliance with the AI Act and other relevant regulations.
- Active involvement in the Data & AI Risk management.
- Participation in meetings with other project teams.
- EU27 citizenship only.
SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in the fields listed below.
- Excellent experience in data governance, data management or related.
- Proficiency in data governance tools, data quality tools, data lineage tools and metadata management solutions.
- Familiarity with data security standards and technologies.
- Knowledge of GDPR, data protection laws, and AI regulations such as the AI Act.
- Extensive knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture.
- Extensive knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL and NoSQL.
- Very good knowledge of ETL tools.
- Good knowledge of modelling tools.
- Very good knowledge of online analytical data processing (OLAP) and data mining tools.
- Experience in data quality, data control and monitoring techniques.
- Ability to work in English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams, conduct training sessions, and promote data governance best practices.
Non-technical skills
- Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
- Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
- Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects.
