Maintenance Manager


Maintenance Manager

Overview:

The Maintenance Manager reports to the COO and leads the Maintenance Department, managing a team of 5–6 direct reports and external vendors. They are fully responsible for the effective and efficient maintenance operations to support both company objectives and customer needs.

Purpose:

To ensure high-quality, cost-effective maintenance operations by managing internal teams and external contractors. The role focuses on service delivery, vendor management, continuous improvement, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:


• Full responsibility for the Maintenance function, including strategy, resources, and processes.


• Define objectives and KPIs in collaboration with stakeholders.


• Ensure operational activities align with guidelines, SLAs, budgets, and priorities.


• Drive transformation, innovation, and continuous improvement for efficiency gains.


• Manage subcontractors, oversee contracts, and ensure timely, accurate purchasing.


• Audit and onboard subcontractors; monitor their performance.


• Provide regular reports on budgets, progress, and operational issues.


• Lead, coach, and evaluate the maintenance team.

• Strong leadership in maintenance operations and service delivery.


• Expertise in vendor management, budgeting, and process optimization.


• Good understanding of telecom B2B and B2C operations and technologies.


• Strong project management and customer focus.


• Analytical, conceptual, and pragmatic problem-solving abilities.

Problem Solving:


• Identify and implement improvements in maintenance delivery and cost-efficiency.


• Lead transformation initiatives and maintain high-quality service standards.


• Provide accurate reporting and ensure operational goals are achieved.

Impact:

Directly influences service quality, operational efficiency, and company financial performance through cost control and process improvements.

Interpersonal Skills:


• Builds strong relationships with stakeholders and acts as a trusted advisor.


• Effective communicator and negotiator with internal and external partners.


• Promotes collaboration and teamwork across departments.


• Acts as the key contact for maintenance-related topics and external authorities.

Profile Requirements:


• Master's degree or 7+ years of relevant experience.


• Service management background in a similar sector.


• Fluent in Dutch, English, and French (minimum level 3).


• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.


• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.


• Competencies: Learning agility, resilience, analytical and critical thinking, coaching, and team guidance.
