VASS BeNeLux, in partnership with the European Commission, is currently seeking an Expert Service Manager_ 25150 TAXUD to work from the European Commission.

The role:
NATURE OF THE TASKS

Minimum of 5 years of recent IT security experience, with:

• In-depth knowledge of current state-of-the-art security management practices and tools.
• Experience gained in complex and structured organisations with outsourced services.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience managing IT security incidents.
• Assist DG TAXUD in coordinating and following up on Infosec/IT security-related matters, acting as a facilitator to align all efforts with project objectives.
• Translate security requirements into actionable technical requirements.
• Promote compliance of DG TAXUD's information systems with the European Commission's security policies.
• Assess and monitor contractor performance regarding the implementation of DG TAXUD's security requirements.
• Review technical deliverables (specifications, software, documentation, security plans) for quality and compliance, with a focus on security and business continuity.
• Oversee security operations, and provide guidance on business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Support the definition and development of DG TAXUD's Information Systems Security Management (ISSM) framework.
• Provide advisory support to clarify issues and help prevent security incidents.
• Analyse technical security assessments and studies.
• Propose technical solutions in security-related domains, such as:
• Privileged identity management
• Firewall architecture
• Vulnerability management
• Demonstrate experience with security methodologies, risk management, and audits, including:

ISO 2700X:2013

• COBIT framework
• Participate in meetings with DG TAXUD, contractors, Member States, and other relevant stakeholders.

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:

• Excellent knowledge of the current state-of-the-art technical evolution in security management and

related products, matured in complex and structured organisation with outsourced services and

proven with practical activities; out of which extensive experience (at least 3 years) in handling IT

security incidents;

• Excellent knowledge of several security solutions in the area of SIEM, Firewalls security, IPS/IDS,

privileged identity management, Web Application Gateways, Web Application Firewalls,

vulnerability scanning, endpoint security services, endpoint protection services, etc.;

• Excellent knowledge in managing Security Risks for the major risks that are to be handled after the

IT solution is being deployed in Production;

• Excellent knowledge with cryptography, network security, identity and access management (IAM)

(such as HashiCorp Vault, CISCO ISE etc.), desktop tools and products for security assessments

and audits;

You have:
To have a bachelor of minimum 3 years
