📍 Brussels

I’m supporting a leading international power systems consultancy that is strengthening its Power System Operations & Security team in response to growing demand linked to renewable integration, balancing markets, and grid reliability.

This role sits at the intersection of system operation, security of supply, and the energy transition , with exposure to complex, high-impact projects across Europe and globally.

The role

You’ll work on transmission-level challenges including:

• Power system operational principles & methodologies
• Model definition and validation
• Steady-state studies (load flow, short circuit, etc.)
• Dynamic stability analysis (frequency & voltage stability)
• Grid Code compliance & connection studies
• System security, capacity calculation, balancing & operational planning
• Client-facing technical advisory and proposal support

Profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Physics
• 5+ years’ experience in power system operations & security
• Strong background in balancing and RES integration
• Hands-on experience with PowerFactory and/or PSS®E
• Fluent English (German, Dutch and/or French a strong plus)
• Comfortable translating complex technical analysis into clear, strategic insight
