Cable Route Survey Engineer – Offshore Interconnector Project Project Development of a second subsea power interconnector between Belgium and the UK (approx. 240 km of offshore cable). The project is in design phase, with seabed surveys planned for end 2026 / early 2027. Role Support the HVDC cable package by defining, managing and following up offshore geophysical and geotechnical surveys. Translate survey data into clear inputs for route engineering and contractor tendering. Main Responsibilities
Define and prepare seabed survey scopes and technical specifications
Manage and interpret survey data (GIS-based)
Support route optimisation and risk assessment
Review contractor tenders and technical submissions
Follow up survey execution and ensure quality (QA/QC)
Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams
Profile
MSc in Geology, Geophysics, Oceanography or similar
Strong experience in offshore surveys (North Sea preferred)
Good knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS) and survey methods
Analytical, organised and safety-oriented
Fluent in English
Additional info:
Location: Brussels and occasional travel required to UK, construction sites or ports (e.g. vessel mobilisation)
Onsite presence: By default, a physical presence on site is required for 2 days per week. Possibility to work remote (on average 2 days per week)
