Senior System Engineer

As a Senior System Engineer, you will be a generalist within the IT team, focusing on multiple domains including data centre, network and cloud management, as well as supporting production processes. You play a crucial role in optimising and managing our IT infrastructure. With your technical expertise and projects such as data centre migrations, Intune roles, cloud telephony, and OT-IT integration, you directly contribute to the continuity and innovation of our organisation.

What will you do?

Data Centre Management

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of primarily virtual servers in a VMware environment
• Establishing and monitoring consistent backups and a robust disaster recovery plan
• Keeping systems and software up to date via patch management
• Managing user accounts and access rights

Network Management and Cloud Integration

• Managing routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs for a stable and secure network
• Applying security protocols (firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption)
• Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues
• Implementing and managing cloud solutions such as Microsoft Intune
• Managing and securing mobile devices and telephony (MDM)
• Implementing and supporting collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams

Support for Production Processes

• Providing IT support to ensure a stable infrastructure in production environments
• Responding quickly to incidents to guarantee the continuity of production processes
• Analysing and optimising production processes through IT solutions such as IoT or automation

Who are you?

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent through experience
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of industrial firewalls (such as Ewon, IXON, mGuard) is a plus

Skills

• Broad technical knowledge: Microsoft stack, VMware, Azure, networking, backup/recovery, cybersecurity
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Dutch and English; French is a plus
• You hold a valid EU work permit and are based in Belgium.
