As our own brand Ayacucho continues to evolve, we are looking for a Senior Designer for outdoor apparel & accessories to build on a strong foundation and help take our collections to the next level.

The Adventure

As Senior Apparel & Accessories Designer, you’ll lead the design of our Ayacucho outdoor collections, ranging from technical performance pieces to lifestyle-oriented apparel. Apparel remains at the core of the collection, with accessories playing a complementary role. You’ll translate brand strategy, sustainability aspects and market insights into innovative, sustainable, and commercial designs that meet the needs of today’s outdoor enthusiasts.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Outdoor Apparel & Accessories Designer for our own brand Ayacucho, you will be responsible for driving the creative development of our outdoor collections. Your main tasks include:

• Develop new products and color and design concepts twice a year by transforming trends, market insights, and innovative ideas into creative, functional, qualitative and commercially successful products that align with the range plan, product briefs, and target specifications.
• Create detailed tech packs and follow the development process from initial concept to final fitting and production in close collaboration with the product manager.
• Contribute to the creation of the digital product catalog.
• Organize product previews and assist in presenting seasonal collections to buyers.
• Finalize tech packs and approve lab dips, proto and fitting samples, trims, and related items to ensure all is fully aligned with the order specifications until pre-production stage.
• Stay up to date with market trends, materials, and eco-design principles, incorporating relevant innovations into your work.
• Actively contribute to process improvement, team collaboration, and the overall professionalization and growth of our brand Ayacucho.

Who you are

• A senior-level designer (10+ years) with proven experience in outdoor and/or sports apparel design; experience with accessories is a plus but secondary.
• Deep knowledge of performance fabrics, garment construction, and technical product design, with the ability to translate functionality into inspiring outdoor collections.
• Passionate about the outdoor lifestyle — you understand the consumer because you live and love the outdoors yourself.
• Experienced in working within an international environment, with a solid understanding of global market needs and competitive dynamics.
• A hands-on, commercial thinker who balances creativity with practicality and business insight.
• Thrives in a small, dynamic, and fast-moving team, where flexibility, initiative, and a can-do mindset are key — even when things get a little unstructured or fast-paced.
• Fluent in English for daily communication with suppliers, while Dutch is the primary language used within the office.
• Reports directly to the Ayacucho brand & buying manager.
