Job Description
The Compliance Manager will oversee the implementation and maintenance of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) strategies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements. This involves designing and implementing effective AML/CFTP policies, procedures, and internal controls.
The Compliance Manager is responsible for:
- Designing and overseeing AML/CFTP frameworks to ensure robustness, proportionality, and alignment with business activities and ML/FT risk profiles;
- Maintaining coherence and integration between AML/CFTP measures and operational processes across all business lines, aligning with group-wide AML/CFTP strategies;
- Providing regular, comprehensive, and timely AML/CFTP risk and compliance reports to management committees and senior management;
- Escalating serious AML/CFTP breaches or risks, recommending remediation actions;
- Acting as liaison with supervisory authorities on AML matters and ensuring compliance with regulatory findings and supervisor feedback.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A university degree in law, finance, economics, risk management, or a related field;
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in financial services, preferably in compliance, risk, audit, or AML functions;
- Proven experience in a senior leadership or board-facing role;
- In-depth understanding of AML/CFTP regulations (EU Directive, Belgian AML Law, FATF standards);
- Demonstrated ability to assess and influence AML strategy and risk governance;
- Strong analytical thinking, leadership, and communication skills;
- Good knowledge of Dutch/French/English languages.
